Nevada Riders Should Be Aware of the New Law for Motorcycle Helmet Safety
New Motorcycle Helmet Safety Law for Nevada Riders
Heads up riders! A new law has taken effect in Nevada and Las Vegas Harley-Davidson wants you to be informed so you can ride safely and legally wherever the road takes you. Motorcycle helmet safety is important for all riders, no matter where you live, but for Nevadans, here’s what you need to know:
All About Nevada’s New Motorcycle Helmet Safety Law
What Is the Law?
The Nevada Helmet Law is an existing law that requires all motorcyclists and passengers to wear helmets that meet U.S. Department of Transportation standards while riding in the state of Nevada.
What’s Changed?
As of October 1st, all riders and passengers riding on trikes and mopeds must also wear helmets. Helmets are required for vehicles with handlebars and saddle seats. However, riders and passengers do not need to wear a helmet while riding a three-wheeled vehicle with an enclosed cab and steering wheel.
Do I Need to Wear a Helmet While Riding an Off-highway Vehicle?
The state of Nevada and the riding crew at Las Vegas Harley-Davidson always recommends that drivers and passengers in vehicles that are not enclosed with a cab wear a helmet every time they ride.
As a responsible rider, knowing and following the law is one of the best ways to protect yourself and your loved ones. Las Vegas Harley-Davidson offers both full-face and open face motorcycle helmets for riders of different styles, including:
